KB>I know its hard to imagine that it really gets 110 in the shade, and that i KB>gets much hotter than that in the sun. Sun on those black containers heat KB>up the roots. Believe it or not, tomatoes (which all the gardening books KB>say do best in full sun) actually do better in partial shade in the KB>extremely hot parts of the summer. I have had consistent problems here in San Diego growing fruit or Vegi's in containers, that are not under some type of sun shade. In my old house I had a arbor that was 15 X 10 that I could drape shade cloth on in the summer to help provide shade for the plant containers. When that happens, then I get excellent plant growth and fruit. I also noted your comment to John about the 1.5 liter plastic soda containers, those bottles have more lives than a cat, water containers, plant starters, dry goods storage, etc etc ß OLX 3.01 31-1308 ß We have MET the ENEMY and he is US! -- Pogo --- Renegade v04-16 Beta * Origin: The Ouija!
