Chickamaugan Story Fires
(c) 1995-2003 William James Chance
In the
Indian war at Horseshoe Bend in southern Alabama, the Creek warriors were called
the Red Lance warriors. The Red Lance Warriors and the Chickamaugan Cherokee
were comparable to the Cheyenne Dog Men . They were the best of all the warriors
of these tribes and they knew their duty was to die to protect the tribe.
They moved fast and could break camp in a flash, live off dogs, roots and insects, go without for many days and were willing to die to protect the tribe. They are the ones that stayed behind to protect the main tribe so that the old and the women and children could get away. They were the backbone of these tribes and they were the fighting force of these tribes.
So it was with the Cheyenne Dog Men, the Chickmauagan Cherokee and the Creek Red Lance warriors... they were the best of the best.
